JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: In this role, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for directing and managing such activities as the recruiting and onboarding of new hires of all levels, employee relations, drafting and maintaining job descriptions, performance management, training and development, benefits administration and recommending & developing best practices and new policy implementation. JOB DUTIES:

  • Coordinate with production team to ensure proper workforce levels
  • Act as an advocate for the employee while also making informed decisions on behalf of the employer
  • Manage and track the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes 
  • Strategize employee engagement to positively impact retention. Promote and nurture a positive work environment
  • The aptitude and flexibility to ramp up production staffing quickly
  • Manage, document and follow through on all employee relations issues such as conflicts, grievances or demands; Make educated employment decision recommendations
  • Ensure legal compliance with all federal and state employment laws, such as form I9 compliance and E-Verify, FMLA, ADA, ACA and Title IX
  • Responsible for annual audits for 401K plan and internal Form I9 compliance
  • Conduct wage studies for all positions and make recommendations for appropriate changes as/when needed 
  • Designing accurate, ADA compliant job descriptions
  • Act as plan administrator for all benefits programs as well act as a liaison to all third-party administrators (TPAs), auditors and brokers for insurance and retirement plans; manages plan renewal negotiations, new enrollments and terminations
  • Oversee payroll clerk to ensure proper and timely weekly payroll-provide backup when necessary
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on workforce metrics, such as retention/turnover, overtime, and total crew count
  • Coordinate with Safety Manager and Risk Management group to mitigate employment decision risks
  • Process and submit all non-weekly payroll tax reporting, such as quarterly reporting, annual W2s and annual ACA reporting

  • Oversee the coordination of company activities, such as holiday parties and quarterly plant appreciation lunches
  • Maintain all personnel records, both electronic and hard copy files

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field desired but not required
  • PHR or SPHR certification desired but not required
  • Minimum 3 or more years of experience in a similar HR role in the construction or manufacturing industry preferred 
  • Must be people and results driven with demonstrable experience with HR related metrics
  • Proficient knowledge of payroll compliance, timekeeping, and databases
  • Strong leadership, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent, active listening and negotiating skills

Position: Quality Control Technician

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Quality Control Supervisor, you will be assisting with day-to-day operations primarily running the SEC station in the Quality Control Department.

Job Responsibilities

Position: Batch Plant Operator/Supervisor

Operates the batch plant to mix various types of aggregates, cement and water to produce wet concrete. Observes gauges, dials and the operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications. Ensures that the proper aggregates and cement are available for processing. Must understand batch designs and have a general understanding of how cement additives will affect the mixture, along with aggregate moistures. Explain use with Hydronix and Command Alkon is a plus. Basic knowledge of Batch Plant mechanics, pneumatic and electricity. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Production and Quality Control departments to insure accurate batching and record keeping with no concrete waste.
  • Work with Maintenance department in doing daily, weekly, monthly and yearly preventative maintenance.
  • Orders and Inventories materials needed for the Batch Plant.
  • Work with outside vendors in scheduling delivery of aggregates, dyes, and admixtures.
  • Be accountable for recording and carrying out accurately all safety procedures and policies.
  • Ability to continuously improve the batching process.
  • Be able to take the initiative to continuously push the batch plant to produce the highest level possible and troubleshoot when issues arise.
  • Batch concrete when needed for multiple designs and jobs at same time.
  • Ability to use math to calculate mix designs, aggregate totals, and other possible calculations needed to adjust on the fly.
  • The Ability to trouble shoot, contact vendors or Command Alkon and think outside the box when problem solving.
  • Cleans mixer area daily; cleans and inspects strand vices.
  • Basic understanding of Mix Design language
  • Complete special projects as requested and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Determining quantities, sizes, shapes and locations of reinforcing rebar from work-orders or oral instruction.  
  • Space and fasten together rods in forms using wire and pliers.

  • Cut rebar rods using metal shears, saws, or bar cutters.  
  • Place spacers blocks under rebar for proper positioning.
